  4. There are 300+ services to choose from or suggest a new service type.
  5. You can list semi-anonymously using only your first name, "John S." instead of "John Smith".
  6. You can modify your listing and hourly rate at any time, start lower to build your customer base.
  7. The employer/customer CALLS YOU when he/she selects Your Listing (you will also get an Email and TXT notification with customer contact and job details.)

  13. The customer job info will NOT be given to your competitors; the customer chose you!  Pick-up that call!
  14. You can list as interested in part-time work, full-time or by the job... so you can maintain your current full-time job while looking for a 2nd part-time position.
  15. Maintain and display a Worker or Service Calendar on your accouont or each service profile so that customers don't call you if your calendar says you are not available when they need the work done.

Ask yourself... is it worth $1 to $20 to have a Customer call directly with a $500+ job opportunity?

Even if you are currently employed full-time and not looking for work why not list and see who might be interested?  Customers can call with "gig/contract", part-time and full-time jobs.

Just starting a business or building experience then list with a lower hourly rate and increase your hourly rate as your client list, skill & experience builds.

I can’t find any local Workers servicing my Zip Code?

HourlyWorker.com is a new nationwide service offered beginning October 20th of 2019!  While any Worker across the US can join day one and Users can search on day one we will begin advertising this site in prioritize major US cities as quickly as possible. "Remote" workers such as Website Designers and Programmers should always be listed for any US ZIP Code. We are adding local workers as quickly as possible across the US and even adding international remote workers for your benefit!

If a local hourly worker is not listed for you, you can always “Request a Worker” and we will try our best to recruit an hourly worker for you in your area and then let you know.

Worker Registration Questions

TBD

Worker Calendars

We offer two calendars for your use, the "Worker Calendar" or the "Service Calendar", both appear and work the same.  A "Service" calendar can be chosen for each individual service to show availability for that service.  This is best for a Business that runs multiple services with multiple workers in those services.

The "Worker" Calendar can be selected and shown as the associated calendar for one or more services.  This allows a worker offering multiple services to maintain one calendar of worker availability.

I want to offer a service as a Worker but the service is not listed?

At HourlyWorker.com we understand there are thousands of services that can be offered and we can’t think of them all; so, as a registered User or Worker you can “Request a Service” be added such as “Bee Keeper”, “Lion Tamer”, “Magician”,… and we will evaluate the service and hopefully add and list this new service type to all HourlyWorker.com Users!

Types of Workers: Local, Remote & Place of Business

A Local Worker is a worker that is able to drive to the customer's job site or a Local Worker that may have a fixed Place of Business (POB) location and you (the customer) have specified that you may travel a certain distance (in your account setup) to a worker if appropriate... such as a Piano Teacher where the lesson is given at the teacher's home or place of business location.  Another Local POB example would be an Auto Service Garage.

A Remote Worker is a worker that can perform the customer's work remotely such as with an Application Programmer or a Financial Counselor.  The Customer/User interface can be by phone or computer based.

Referral Fees to be paid by the Worker

When a employer/customer "contacts" the chosen Worker a referral fee will be calculated and charged to the Worker.  Worker referral fees are calculated on the estimated Job Value (Hrs/week x Weeks x Rate/hr.).

The current Referral Minimum charge is $1.00, the Referral Maximum charge is $20.00. The Worker can set a Max Referral Spend Budget per month and can "up" this in the Worker Profile page of his/her Worker Account at any time.

Picture sizing, formating and saving best practices

For the Worker's service "Cover Image" start with a square photo of good resolution, 500x500+ pixels.

For the Worker's Profile Photo we recommend a simlar 500x500 square photo with the photo subject to look good in cropped Portrait or Landscape mode.

For a Worker's S"ervice Related Images" we recommend landscape photos that are 1560x760px or approximately of a 2x1 aspect ratio and with fairly high resolution.

Editing pictures can be viewed, sized, enhanced, cropped and saved with a phone camera app, or on a desktop using a web app like Canva.com or iMac using Apple OS tools.  Save your pictures as a JPEG (jpg) or as a PNG file to then upload.

As a Worker is Insurance Required?

Being insured is not required though being insured with Liability and Workers Comp is highly
recommended. On-site work for most businesses will likely require Insurance and home-owners as well are advised to only have insured workers on their property. Liability Insurance policies are not expensive and can be found with many website providers such as Next Insurance at https://www.next-insurance.com/

As an Employer/Customer should I have a contract with the Worker or Business?

We recommend a Contract or “Statement of Work” be written and understood by both parties.
HourlyWorker.com does not employee these workers and is not a party to any work contract. The
Worker or Business should provide a contract or Invoice but you can as well. Sample contracts can be found on-line or written by hand and signed by both parties.

Testing Your Service Listing

As a Worker you may want to make sure that your Service Lisitng is working and verify how it appears to your potential customers but you DON'T want to incur a Referral Fee ($) to your account just to test...so HourlyWorker.com has introduced the ability to TEST your listing by "contacting" yourself for your service at No Fee. To do this:

  1. Log-on to your Worker Account, then
  2. "Search" for one of your Service Listings, then
  3. "View" your Service Profile then
  4. "Contract" the listing Worker (yourself), then
  5. Enter the test Job data and submit
  6. You should see the Job Summary on the screen for your selected Service, and
  7. You should then receive 2 emails... one to the Worker (you with a job request) and one the the User (you) showing the Worker (you) that you requested.
  8. To veriify the transaction you can go to your Worker "Past Customers" to see the Test Transaction.

As a User how do I pay the Worker or Business?

HourlyWorker.com does not employee these workers so HourlyWorker.com is not a party to any payment transaction. You should discuss with your worker their and your payment option of choice… examples are: check, cash, charge, Venmo, PayPal or even barter.  On the Worker Profile he/she should list which payment alternative(s) is supported.

As a User or Worker what are the Tax ramifications, if any?

HourlyWorker.com is not a party to any work contract or payment transaction. If you are unsure about employment tax issues you should consult your accountant.

As a User should I require my Worker be Insured?

This is up to you. It is advisable if work is being done at your home or business and for more physical type work. Hourly rates may be lower for uninsured workers and you may consider insurance not being required for a remote worker such as an hourly remote bookkeeper.

As a Worker will I be charged when a User contacts me?

Yes you will be charged a Referral Fee which is based on the amount of work estimated by the user. There is a Minimum Fee (i.e. $1.00) and Maximum Fee (i.e. $20.00). For example the Referral Fee for a $2,000.00 painting project would only be $20.00.

As a Worker will a customer’s job be sent to other Workers?

No, a Customer will choose you and contact you directly based on your listing of qualifications and hourly rate. The customer will be given your contact information to call or email immediatley and you will be sent a TXT and Email immediately with the Customer’s job requirements and contact information: phone & email.

As a Worker how should I take payment? Local, Remote?

HourlyWorker.com does not participate in services payment or collection.  We do recommend you always provide an invoice to the customer for proper documentation of services rendered.  Whether you are local or remote, payment types you might consider are cash or check and on-line services PayPal (person to person), Venmo (person to person) or Credit Card processing (local or remote) via on-line services such as Stripe.com and Square.com.
